And Now For Something Completely Different

Sunset

What, I can only take pictures of dogs? The view from the deck last September. Scroll down for more dog photos. Trust me, they're there.

A Pioneer

It is hard to believe, but once upon a time our house held no dog beds, even though we had dogs aplenty. Then we adopted Annie. Shortly after she arrived, we noticed her rearranging the area rugs; piling them up into little heaps that she would then sit on.

Well, we can take a hint. Now, thanks to Costco, we have a large selection of dog beds scattered around the house for the dogs to choose from.

So, in the interests of the historical record, here is Annie reclining on the fruits of her efforts: her/our very first dog bed.

Jezebel

Mugging for the camera.

A more introspective moment.

Jezebel 02

We have rescued many dogs, and this is the only one whose name we were able to discover. She had been micro-chipped as a puppy, and although none of the other information on her was current, she definitely responded to the name.

Given how many times and ways it has been misspelled since then by people who know her (Jesabel, Jesabelle, Jezabel, etc.), who knows if the original owner actually spelled it this way. She has never complained, however.

Okay, lawn perfectionists will object to the flowers being allowed to grow right in the middle of the greensward, but I think it adds character.

As does George, of course.

Another Gratuitous Lucky Post

Posing very nicely one Christmas.

Lucy Then and Now

Another picture of Lucy when we first got her.

Lucy at 10 weeks

I was hoping that she would grow up to look like Lucky, pictured here:

But instead she took a different direction. Not that we're unhappy with the result:

Q.E.D.

But I don't think he looks much like William Shatner (or, rather, vice-versa), do you?

Name Change?

Lily and Lucy when we first adopted them.

Later, we came to realize that they would have been better named Heckel and Jeckel, or perhaps Evel and Knievel.

Oh well, too late now. Already bought the name tags.
